How Oregon Calculates Child Support

Oregon uses the Income Shares model to determine child support obligations. This page explains the guidelines, formula, and key factors.

Model Type

Income Shares

Oregon's Income Shares guideline (OAR 137-050-0700 et seq.) applies a parenting-time credit under OAR 137-050-0730 that reduces a parent's obligation as that parent's share of overnights increases, calculated from the parents' actual or court-ordered overnight schedule rather than a flat custody-type category.
